We design tools and experiences that help people reflect meaningfully and connect intentionally, together.

Our Team

The Center for Reflective Intelligence is a team of educators, researchers, clinicians, and designers dedicated to building communities of purpose and belonging.

CRI was founded in 2024 by clinical psychologist Belle Liang, PhD, and award-winning educator Tim Klein, LCSW, co-authors of the book How to Navigate Life: The New Science of Finding Your Way in School, Career, and Beyond

BELLE LIANG

Co-Founder

Belle is a psychologist, professor, purpose researcher, and mother of two grown kids (one studying medicine, the other philosophy), both of whom have become two of her best teachers.

She’s currently focused on how reflection and relationships help people build lives that are grounded in purpose and marked by a deeper sense of spiritual freedom.

TIM KLEIN

Co-Founder

Tim is a school counselor, clinical therapist, (budding) game designer and dad of two rambunctious boys.

Currently, he’s most interested in exploring how communities can leverage the power of fun to help people thrive in school, work and life.

ALEXX TEMEÑa

Founding Designer

Alexx is an experiential designer, artist of ceremony, somatic therapist-in-training, and lifelong student of Rest.

Currently, she’s most animated by provoking sacred belonging in our everyday lives through play, embodiment, and the art of crafting good questions.

TERESE LUND

RESEARCH METHODOLOGIST

Terese is a research methodologist, professor, associate vice provost, and mom of one curious kid who keeps her asking better questions.

She’s currently focused on designing meaningful ways to study purpose, reflection, and human development, especially in educational systems and everyday life.

Our Approach

Our work is grounded in research, designed for impact, and created to support deeper connections, sustainable transformation, and a culture of belonging.

Through our research and work, we’ve learned:

Reflecting on our lives develops purpose.

Talking meaningfully with others develops belonging.

When we share purpose and belonging, community emerges.
